“Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed; as it is written,
‘He scattered abroad, he gave to the poor,
His righteousness endures forever.’
Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness; you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God.” 2 Corinthians 6-12
First praise the Lord and secondly I want to say thank you so much to each one of you who have responded to my request for the gospel of John’s and Bibles! The Lord has used each of you who responded to provide for the need and I believe at this time we have enough of the gospels and Bibles on their way to cover the need at this time! Thank you, thank you.
As you have so freely given may the Lord bless you each one and may your heavenly reward be far beyond all you could ever ask or think.
The next step and prayer request is that you pray. Whether you were able to give gospels and Bibles or not I ask that you pray. As each of these gospels of John and Bibles are put into the hands of these children pray that they would read them and not only read them, but take the Word of God to heart and have a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Would you join with me in prayer and remind the Lord of the promise He has given us in Isaiah 55:10-11:
“’For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
And do not return there without watering the earth
And making it bear and sprout,
And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty,
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.'”
May the harvest be great as His Word goes forth into the hands and hearts of these children and I pray that it not only impacts their lives but the lives of their entire family as well.
One of the pastors of the church told me that he had been talking to a mother who has been attending the church with her son and she mentioned that her son had more joy than she has ever known him to have. As these children grow in the Lord may they produce the fruit of the Spirit and may their families also see the difference in their lives and desire to know the Lord.
I would also request prayer for myself and each one of our team who is leading and helping with this Kid’s Club. Pray that the Lord would help us to grow in Him and have the wisdom we need. May He help us to know how to best lead, help and disciple these children as they learn and grow in their walk with the Lord. For those children and their families with whom we don’t have contact with yet, or who haven’t accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior yet, may He be preparing their hearts to accept Him and us as well that we may have the right words at the right time.
Last Saturday we were a little discouraged because there was a much smaller group of kids that showed up for the Kid’s Club, however I believe the Lord still blessed the time. It was an advantage in some ways having a smaller group of children so we could have a little more personal time with them as well.
The next day, Sunday, the Lord encouraged us once again with two new mothers and at least a few of their children (some of their kids come to the Kid’s Club) that came to the worship services despite a day with drizzling rain off and on. We continue to pray for several of the family members of those in the congregation who don’t know the Lord as well.
It has been a blessing to have a seminary student from the Dallas/Fort Worth area come down for the summer. His name is Scott and since his major is music it has been a blessing to have him help lead worship with Luis’ new wife (Luis is one of the pastors) Sunday mornings. Scott has been helping with the Kid’s Club as well as helping in some of the other church plants. He may also start an English Bible study for those who prefer English.
Up until this past week I have just about had a full time job cutting grass whether it be with the mower or weed eater! RGBI has two nearly identical mowers but this one has the canopy. I usually use the other mower without the canopy but the one day I thought to take a picture (I don’t usually think of taking pictures when I’m working) the mower I usually use had a problem.
This week has been interesting with the Lord blessing us with more rain and my job changed from cutting grass to cleaning rooms in the guy’s dorm. We had another big gully washer last night so I may be cleaning again next week until it dries up enough to mow…the grass certainly is growing well and I may need to bale instead of mow by the time I can get back to mowing!
Once again, praise the Lord and thank you for your help and prayers.
May the Lord bless and keep you and your families.
