“There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven— …
He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.” Ecclesiastes 3:1,11

Throughout life we experience various seasons for different things the Lord has given us to do. Through it all as Paul stated so well, ” Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.” Colossians 3:17 Whether the Lord gives us a time to relax, what seems like menial, tedious work, maybe trials in life or some of the most joyous times, in all of these things and in whatever we do we need to do it for Him. We should thank the Lord for giving us the moment in time that we are in right now. In all of our doing we need to also remember that we are to seek Him and His kingdom first as Jesus said, for the Lord will provide for all our needs. These things we do now, for eternity, are what really will matter when we are in eternity.

“‘But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.'” Matthew 6:33

“‘But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;'” Matthew 6:20

Last week was my final week to work for RGBI during the summer months. It has been a blessing to have a job through the summer and have a relatively flexible schedule with it as well. I probably averaged having English/Spanish classes three times most weeks through the summer with some of the bible institute students which has really been a blessing for me. While I’m not sure how much more I learned I’m thankful that I believe I at least held steady if not advanced a little with my language learning. This week we start classes so it will be an interesting week trying to get back in the swing of being in classes all morning again. It sounds like we will be starting out with a bang and it will be full force ahead to get all the material covered and assignments done!

While various family members have come to church it was good to have one of the fathers of some of the kids from the Kid’s Club come with his family for a recent church service. He even invited us to come watch the kid’s soccer game that evening which one of the pastors and I did. Unfortunately I believe both the teams that were represented from the kid’s club won one and lost two games that evening. We enjoyed the time though.

Others from our church recently participated in a “Push” where individuals from churches go from door to door or in the streets and parks to share the gospel. They had a great time and it sounded like the Lord both used and taught them through the experience. There were groups from other places around Texas and other parts of the United States who also participated. One group in particular was a group of 6 from Georgia who decided to finish their trip by coming to help us with the Kid’s Club that following Saturday. It was a blessing to have them come and help. It is exciting to have three of the children almost ready to receive the first three Bibles. They have nearly finished reading their gospels of John! We are enjoying watching some of the kids grow and understand more of the Lord as He is revealing Himself to them more.

Over the past few weeks we have been in a hot dry trend which is more typical of this part of the country. Thankfully with the hotter weather we have usually kept the breeze and lowered the humidity so yes, it is hot, but not unbearable. Very similar to Kansas although I think typically down here there are usually more consecutive days of hot weather than back home. It’s going to be rough being back in the air conditioning again I imagine. Having to go in and out of the air conditioning all the time really puts a strain on a person’s body.

On your mark, get set, GO!!! Time to get back into the grammar book and work on memorizing my next dialog!

May the Lord bless each of you.
